Thomas Blondelle made his debut with the Bavarian State Opera during the Munich Opera-Festival 2011, followed by Froh in a new production of Das Rheingold in February 2012. In 2011, he also made his Vienna debut, singing Graf Zedlau in a new production of Strauß’ Wiener Blut at the Vienna Volksoper. In April 2012, he sang Chevalier in Poulenc's Dialouges des Carmélites at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf-Duisburg.
A member of Deutsche Oper Berlin since 2009, Thomas Blondelle’s repertoire includes Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Chevalier in Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites as well as Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth, Cassio in Verdi’s Otello and Froh in Wagner’s Das Rheingold as well as Siegfried in a version for children of Wagner's Siegfried.
In 2007, Thomas Blondelle created the role of Melchior Gabor in Menier’s world première Frühlings Erwachen at Théâtre Royale de la Monnaie in Brussels, a company he made his debut with in 2003. As a guest he has performed at Grand Théâtre de Luxemburg, De Vlaamse Opera, Opéras en plein air Paris, Opéra National du Rhin Strasbourg as well as at Opéra de Toulon. In 2010, he made his debut as Eisenstein in Strauß' Die Fledermaus in Braunschweig and in 2011 as Gomatz in Mozart's Zaide at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
A dedicated recitalist and concert singer, Thomas Blondelle has performed with the Deutsche Symphony Orchestra Berlin, Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker as well as the WDR Rundfunkorchester Cologne. He has worked with conductors Yves Abel, Marco Armiliato, Maurizio Barbacini, Michail Jurowski, Andrew Litton, Jiří Kout, Sigiswald Kuijken, Kent Nagano, Carlo Rizzi, Donald Runnicles, Ulf Schirmer, Michael Schønwandt and Lothar Zagrosek.
