Eric Ander made his debut at Oper Frankfurt in the world premiere of Ronchetti’s Inferno in June 2021. In 2019, the Swedish bass performed at Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam as Reinmar von Zweter in Christof Loy’s production of Wagner‘s Tannhäuser. He made his debuts in Hasse’s Artaserse with the Hofkapelle München in Bayreuth, Munich and Budapest’s Spring Festival in 2018 and in Rihm’s Jakob Lenz at Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels in 2015, Staatsoper Berlin in 2017 and Festival d’Aix-en-Province 2019. In 2022, he introducee himself to Staatstheater Darmstadt in a new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Eric Ander performed in new productions of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades and Verdi’s Un ballo in Maschera at Theater Chemnitz between 2016 and 2018. From 2014 to 2016 he was a member of Stuttgart Oper Studio, where he appeared in numerous productions; prior to that he performed in Handel’s Imeneo, Mariotte’s Salomé and Obst’s Solaris at Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich.
His concert repertoire includes Bach cantatas and masses as well as his St John Passion, Magnificat, St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Haydn’s The Creation, Mendelssohn’s Paulus, Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle and works by Biber, Buxtehude, Larsson, Rosenberg and Schelle. He first appeared as a concert soloist at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in 2014 and at Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2015.
Eric Ander has performed with orchestras such as Collegium Musicum, Britten Pears Baroque Orchestra, Ensemble Modern, Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Staatsorchester Stuttgart, Stockholms Bachsällskap and The English Voices and under the baton of conductors including Marc Albrecht, Florian Benfer, Gregor Bühl, Sylvain Cambreling, Giuliano Carella, Christian Curnyn, Georg Fritzsch, Simon Hewitt, Michael Hofstetter, James Holmes, Roland Kluttig, Ingo Metzmacher, Mats Nilsson, Emmanuel Olivier, Franck Ollu, Christoph Rousset and Ulf Schirmer.
