Ketevan Chuntishvili made her debut at Staatsoper Hannover in March 2022, singing Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze die Figaro. The Georgian soprano returned to Hanover as Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème and a new production of Rimski-Korsakov’s Tsare Saltan during the 2022/23 season. She joined the ensemble of Staatsoper Hannover from the 2023/24 season, where she presented herself mainly in Mozart’s Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Despina in Così fan tutte and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. During the 2024/25 season, she will make her debuts as Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Mrs Naidoo in Glass’ Satyagraha, and Lenio in Martinů’s The Greek Passion.
Ketevan Chuntishvili made her professional debut at Stadttheater Klagenfurt in 2020, singing Fifth Maid in a new production of Strauss’ Elektra. From 2021 until 2023, she has been a member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Cottbus, where her repertoire stretched from Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen to Roksana in Szymanowski’s Król Roger. 2024 saw her debut at Deutsche Oper Berlin. At Hamburger Sprechwerk, she was acclaimed as Bubikopf in Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis in 2019. Ketevan Chuntishvili has worked with directors such as Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, Jasmina Hadžiahmetović, Eva-Maria Höckmayr, Barbora Horáková, Cesare Lievi, Stephan Märki, Tomo Sugao.
A dedicated recitalist, the soprano was a scholarship holder of Thomas Hampson’s Lied Academy in 2020 and 2021 at the Heidelberg Spring International Music Festival and Pierre Boulez-Saal in Berlin. In 2021, she performed at Munich’s Hidalgo Festival. Her concert repertoire includes Bach’s: b-minor-Mass, Buxtehude‘s Das jüngste Gericht, Dvořák‘s Stabat Mater, Handel’s Israel in Egypt HWV 54, Haydn‘s The Seasons and Stabat Mater, Mahler‘s Symphony N° 2, Mendelssohn‘s Paulus, Mozart: Requiem, Saccini’s L‘abbgandono delle Ricchezze di S. Filippo Neri.
Ketevan Chuntishvili has performed under the baton of conductors including Nicholas Carter, Giulio Cilona, James Hendry, Alexander Merzyn, Yannis Pouspourikas and was accompanied by orchestras such as Concerto de Bassus, Georgisches Kammerorchester Ingolstadt, Kärntner Sinfonieorchester, Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin, Philharmonisches Orchester Cottbus, Philharmonisches Orchester Erfurt, Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie Chemnitz.
